What is Bakuchiol?
Bakuchiol is a concentrated extract from the seeds of psoralea corylifolia plant. Although it is a relatively new skincare ingredient, bakuchiol draws comparison to retinoids. Some studies even indicated that bakuchiol is better than retinol at reducing the signs of ageing
Why Is Bakuchiol Better Than Retinol?
1. Bakuchiol delivers retinol results
Clinical trials showed that like retinol, bakuchiol promotes the collagen production in the skin. It reduces the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines and reverses the signs of photoageing (hyperpigmentation). After 12 weeks of twice-a-day application, bakuchiol also remarkably improves skin firmness and elasticity.
2. Bakuchiol doesn't cause skin irritation and dryness
Unlike retinol, bakuchiol doesn't cause skin irritation and dryness. It is suitable for all skin types including sensitive skin and the skin around the eyes.
