The Covid-19 Outbreak

Covid-19 is an infectious respiratory disease caused by the novel coronavirus first identified in Wuhan, China. It can trigger the inflammation of the tiny sacs at the end of the breathing tubes in the lungs. Covid-19 may cause breathing difficulties that starve the body of oxygen.

The signs and symptoms of Covid-19 may include:

  • cough usually a dry persistent cough. Be well informed that Covid-19 patients may have runny nose and phlegm coughed up from the lungs.
  • breathing difficulties such as rapid sallow breathing, worsening chest pain with every deep breath and cough.
  • fever, shiver and sweating.
  • rapid heartbeat.
  • loss of appetite and energy.
  • joint and muscle pain.
  • headaches or even vomiting.
  • confusion and disorientation (drowsiness).

Like with the other types of pneumonia, Covid-19 is a potentially life-threatening illness. For comparison, in 2017, there were more than 90,000 people died from pneumonia or influenza in the UK; while in the USA, every year there are around 50,000 people die from pneumonia. Pneumonia is the world's leading cause of death among children under 5 years old. Younger children and elderly people are generally more vulnerable to the deadly effects of pneumonia; surprisingly, in the US, around half of the mortality due to pneumonia occur in people age between 18 and 64.

The effective treatment for Covid-19 disease has yet to be found. Due to the drug resistant nature of the novel coronavirus, the death toll from the Covid-19 has surpassed that of the 2003 coronavirus SARS outbreak. Elderly people and people with underlying medical condition are particularly at risk of dying from Covid-19.

How Long Can The Coronavirus Survive Outside The Body?

Coronaviruses tend to survive longer indoor. It can survive on non-porous surfaces (water resistant) like metal for up to 5 days and plastic for up to 9 days. Known to be an airborne virus, coronavirus can stay in the air for a few hours.

How To Survive From Covid-19

Covid-19 triggers various symptoms from mild to severe. Around 95% of the novel coronavirus infected people only develop mild symptoms, similar to those of colds or flu; while the remaining 5% have severe symptoms that require urgent medical treatment. Reading from the statistics, the current death rate of Covid-19 is 4% globally.

How to increase your survival rate from Covid-19?

1. Stay calm and seek medical help

In most cases, infected people start to experience Covid-19 symptoms within seven days, nevertheless, it may take up to 27 days for the symptoms to show up. By nature, your body is designed to fight off the infection as part of the natural defense mechanism. This requires a lot of energy and effort from your body, therefore, you need to rest.

If you suspect you might have Covid-19; if you live in the UK, call NHS 111 to get the proper medical advice and help. Remember not to turn up directly to hospital or GP surgery. You need to self isolate until you get proper medical help or advice. Be fully aware, due to the shortage of testing kits, you may not be able to get tested. However, you should call NHS UK 111 again if your symptoms are getting worse or you develop severe symptoms.

If you live in a country where you can't get proper medical support for Covid-19, you may continue reading this article to help increase your survival rate from Covid-19.

2. Use Breathing Aid or Ointment

If you have a breathing aid or respiratory device, use it to reduce breathing difficulties. Alternatively, you can use a breathing ointment like Breathe and Focus Oil. Formulated with menthol, eucalyptus, rosemary and thyme essential oils, this phyto-aromatherapy ointment helps ease breathing difficulties commonly associated with cold, flu, cough, asthma and pneumonia. Gently massage a few drops of Breathe and Focus Oil to your chest and apply 1 to 2 drops to a tissue or handkerchief then inhale the aroma. Repeat as often as necessary.

Studies showed that eucalyptus essential oil contains cineole that helps reduce inflammation and infection in the lungs. Eucalyptus Radiata essential oil has antiviral effects against coronavirus SARS. Rosemary essential oil has been shown to be effective against Klebsiella pneumoniae, a bacteria which causes pneumonia in humans and animals. Thyme essential oil has been shown to have antiviral activities against Influenza A virus (H1N1), while menthol with its cooling-effect has also been shown to reduce breathing difficulties. These essential oils may help you dealing with Covid-19 disease.

If you don't have a breathing aid or ointment, use the steam from hot water to improve your breathing. Pour hot water into a cup or bowl and then breathe in the steam.

3. Eat Fresh Garlic and Ginger

Please be informed that there is no vaccine or drug or foods that can prevent the coronavirus infection.

Fresh garlic and ginger may help your body fight against coronaviruses but will not prevent you to catch the infection. Studies suggest that both garlic and ginger have antiviral properties. Both may help increase your survival rate from Covid-19. Fresh ginger helps fight off the viral infection caused by human respiratory syncytial virus. Ginger may also help reduce the breathing difficulties. Garlic and ginger have excellent anti-inflammatory properties to help calm down the inflammation of the tiny sacs at the end of the breathing tubes in the lungs. If you don't have garlic and ginger, you can try turmeric. Turmeric contains curcumin, anti-inflammatory compound which has been shown to help reduce the severity of pneumonia caused by Influenza A virus (H1N1).

4. Keep Trying To Get Proper Medical Help

Last but not least, keep trying to get proper medical help if the symptoms are worsening. Covid-19 is a dangerous new disease that may require intensive medical treatment, even more so for elderly people and people who already suffer with other diseases such as asthma, cancer, diabetes, lung and heart disease.

Kindly Help:

I hope this article can help millions people all across the world to deal with the Covid-19 outbreak when they can't get medical help. Please share with everyone who is at risk of being infected by the coronavirus. Many thanks in advance!
