Resveratrol Reduces Hot Flashes, Risk of Cancer and Skin Ageing

Resveratrol is a polyphenol naturally found in the skin of red grapes and the root of japanese knotweed. Known for its great health benefits, resveratrol increases the body's sensitivity to insulin, supports the healthy functioning of the brain and reduces the risk for heart disease and cancer.

Resveratrol reduces hot flashes in 78.6% of menopausal women

A clinical study in 50 menopausal women at the Center for Menopause Maggiore Hospital of Charity of Novara, Italy revealed that Resveratrol reduced the intensity of hot flashes in 78.6% of menopausal women. The oral consumption of resveratrol was shown to reduce the severity of hot flashes from severe and moderate to mild.

Another study showed that 60 menopausal women who took a combination of resveratrol and equol have significantly improved their quality of life after 12 weeks. 85.7% have less problems associated with dry vagina, 78.8% experience less heart discomfort/pain, 73.3% have less problems with having sex. It has been reported that 94.1% of these women also perform better at work and other activities. Their quality of sleep has been significantly improved too.
* Equol is a phyto-estrogen extracted from soya beans.

Resveratrol reduces the risk of cancer in post-menopausal women

Menopause itself doesn't increase the risk for cancer, however, women are more at risk of developing cancer with age. Studies suggest that the long exposure to estrogen prior to menopause increases the risk of various cancers. Women who experienced menopause after the age of 55 or began menstruating before the age of 12 are both at a higher risk of having ovarian, breast and uterine cancer.

Studies showed that resveratrol reduces the risk of cancer in post-menopausal women. Therefore, it is worth for menopausal and post-menopausal women to discuss with their doctor about taking resveratrol to reduce the risk of having cancer.

Resveratrol Helps Prevent Collagen Degradation in Menopausal Skin

Collagen is one of the main skin components which gives skin its strength and firmness. During and after menopause the body produces less collagen. The declining levels of collagen in the body trigger the appearance of wrinkles, lines and sagging skin.

To boost the collagen synthesis and reduce the signs of ageing in the skin, apply Bio-Collagen Serum to freshly-cleansed skin after cleansing, morning and evening. Formulated with resveratrol, coenzyme Q10 and ferulic acid, this award-winning anti-ageing serum helps restore the youthfulness of the skin from within. Utilising the latest nano bio-technology, Bio-Collagen Serum has been infused with ultra-low-molecular-weight hyaluronic acid and 24-karat nano gold particles to deliver active ingredients, nutrients and oxygen into the deeper layers of the skin.

Resveratrol Protects Skin From Free Radicals and Oxidative Stress

Pollutants and UV rays are known to trigger the formation of free radicals in the body including in the skin. Free radicals are harmful molecules that can cause potential damage to the body. The body needs antioxidant to neutralise free radicals, otherwise these free radicals trigger oxidative stress which causes damage to cells including DNA. DNA damage can lead to the development of cancer.

Studies showed that Resveratrol has powerful antioxidative properties to neutralise free radicalsThe antioxidative properties of Resveratrol is much higher than those of vitamin A, C, E, catechin in tea, epicatechin in cocoa, gallocatechin in adzuki beans, gallic acid in blueberries and ellagic acid in pomegranates. A clinical data indicated that resveratrol has 17 times greater antioxidant activities than idebenone, the antioxidant used in some anti-ageing skincare products (Richard A Baxter, MD; Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology, March 2008).

Due to lack of collagen, elastin and oil glands, the skin around the eyes is particularly vulnerable to prominent signs of ageing. To protect the skin around the eyes from free radicals and oxidative stress that trigger the signs of ageing, apply Bio-Collagen Eye and Lip Cream every morning and evening. Formulated with resveratrol, niacinamide and n-acetyl glucosamine, this anti-ageing eye cream brightens and lifts up the appearance of the skin around the eyes. Resveratrol provides a powerful protection against free radical damage while niacinamide and n-acetyl glucosamine reduce the appearance of wrinkles, lines and pigmentation spots.
