Air Pollution Causes Hair Loss and Premature Skin Ageing

" Polluted air contains complex mixtures of toxic particles and gases including free radicals."

As fun as it can be, living in big cities like London, New York, Shanghai and Singapore isn't without risks. The level of air pollution in big cities is increasingly becoming a major health concern. According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), air pollution caused 4.2 million deaths in 2016. Breathing in the air in some parts of New Delhi during the day is as bad as smoking 50 cigarettes a day.

Polluted Air Causes Hair Loss

A recent study suggests that CO2 emissions reduce the levels of four proteins in the scalp that play a critical role in hair growth cycle. Researchers found that CO2 emissions increase hair fall and reduce hair growth.

Polluted air contains complex mixtures of toxic particles and gases including free radicals. Free radicals can damage living cells in our body including those of blood vessels. Blood vessels carry oxygenated blood and nutrients to all parts of our body including skin and hair follicles. Any damage to blood vessels particularly those in the scalp can cause hair follicles to shrink and unable to grow hair. To boost blood circulation in the scalp, use Hair Loss Solution for Men and Women. Formulated with multivitamins, caffeine and hair growth stimulating botanical complex; these anti hair loss formulas help neutralise free radicals, prevent thinning hair and promote new hair growth.

Air Pollution Causes Premature Skin Ageing

Air pollution is one of the major causes of premature skin ageing. Just like with smoking, inhaling polluted air triggers oxidative stress in the body. Oxidative stress causes our body to age faster. Our skin is constantly exposed to pollutants and free radicals in the environment. Studies showed that pollutants and free radicals cause inflammation and oxidative damage in the skin. Air pollution causes the skin to lose its elasticity and the signs of ageing to appear such as wrinkles, fine lines and pigmentation spots.

To protect your skin from pollution and free radicals, apply multi-award-winning Antioxidant Youthful Essence to freshly cleansed face and neck every morning and evening. Formulated with the three best antioxidants for the skin, vitamin C, vitamin E and ferulic acid; this all-skin-types face serum is your first defence against external and internal ageing factors. It helps fight off free radicals and protects skin cells from pollutants.
