What is Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate?
Tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate is a lipid-soluble vitamin C derivative. Unlike the water-soluble pure vitamin C (ascorbic acid) which degrades rapidly upon contact with water, the oil-soluble tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate provides more stability and longer product shelf life. However, like with all vitamin C derivates, it is less potent than ascorbic acid.
