" Studies showed that Caffeine prevents hair follicles from shrinking."
Androgenetic alopecia is the progressive thinning of the hair on the scalp caused by the androgen hormone known as dihydrotestosterone. Although it may affect young men in their early twenties, androgentic alopecia is certainly more common with age. Some women also suffer from hair loss caused by dihydrotestosterone.
The Cause of Androgenetic Alopecia
It is still a mystery why dihydrotestosterone (DHT) triggers hair loss in some men and women. In people who don't suffer from hair loss, this androgen hormone doesn't affect their hair at all. However, for some men and women, dihydrotestosterone causes the hair follicles to shrink over a period of time until they can't longer grow hair. It is understood that up to 10% of testosterone in men's and women's body gets converted to dihydrotestosterone.
In individuals who have been affected by androgenetic hair loss, dihydrotestosterone seems to have prevented the nutrients to reach the hair follicles. Due to lack of nutrients, these hair follicles shrink progressively and at some point, stop producing hair.

Caffeine Helps Reduce Dihydrotestosterone Levels
In hair follicles, testosterone gets converted to dihydrotestosterone by the enzyme 5-alpha-reductase (5-AR). A study published in the International Journal of Trichology suggested that Caffeine may reduce the activity of 5-alpha-reductase in the hair follicles. Hence, regular application of caffeine on the scalp seems to help prevent the hair follicles from shrinking.
Caffeine Helps Reduce Hair Loss
Based on my own experience, I believe that caffeine is effective in slowing down the thinning of the hair as long as the hair follicles have not gone completely. Nevertheless, these results may vary among individuals, hence, I never ever promise that Henry Tianus Hair Loss Solution will work for everyone.
I use caffeine in my Hair Growth Serum formula. I apply this serum to the affected areas of the scalp, twice a day, morning and evening. To improve blood circulation in the scalp that helps bring nutrients to hair follicles, I have developed Scalp Stimulator, a pre-shampoo scalp revitaliser. It contains menthol, the active component of peppermint oil that has been shown to promote hair growth.
